Best Choice?

From WP 20/5/10

Year 2009 was a big change for me - us.
Important decision was made ~ moving out to live by ourself, me abah and lil amira.
With that, the decision for me to stop working was somehow decided upon too. As we were moving out of my homeland ~ Singapore ~ to across the border ~ Johore ~
Lots of thinking has been put into it, and though at first mum was very upset, I truly believe that its the best choice we could ever made. I personally feel that our ~ me and mum ~ relationship is far much better now.
Absence makes the heart fonder? hmm..that could be true.

Alhamdulillah Allah has paved us the way so that we could survive living on our own. It was extremely difficult at first. What with dear hubby was only freelancing and I wasn't working. It was the most unstable & tight phase for us. Thank you Allah for the strength you gave us to tide over that 'down' period of ours. Looking back, I pray hard that we will never have to go through that again. ~amin~

Financial stability ~ admit it or not ~ is truly very important in marriage. We couldn't just live on love alone however romantic you may be, it will not put the food on the table, or pay for the bills right.
Some things to share:
- Plan your monthly budget, down to the grocery budget ~ this will keep you from overspending
- However tight you may, REFRAIN from taking any kind of LOANS, this will only result in future difficulties. ~ one of the reason that life/money always feel inadequate (tak berkat) is because of this.
- Always pay your bills on time ~ to avoid from having to pay more for reconnection fees or interest.
- Try to minimize eating out ~ a lil treat once in a while is ok, just make sure its within your limit.
- Always COMMUNICATE with your partner and do not keep your feelings bottled up, in whatever situation ~ DO NOT expect your hubby to know what's going through your mind (though sometimes you may feel that its truly obvious-like duhh), well its not their fault, they are just MEN! *but it still do irritate me sometimes!*
- SAVINGS ~ for the future or rainy days ~ never fail to set aside even a small sum.
- Needs or Desires : If you are on a tight budget, do only focus on needs. Ask yourself, do I really need this? Can I survive without this LV? *hee*
Whatever you do, keep in mind that Allah is always with you and He will not burden you with things you cant cope with.
--------------------------------------
All in all, I am thankful that we faced the hardship together ~inna maal usri yusra, with hardship comes ease~*amin*
So our choices made:
Moving : Yes *alhamdulillah*
Me not working: hmm...gonna continue this later..*lots to say about this*
