Amira and storybooks

She thought all bookstores are like MPH or Borders where she can take a book and sit anywhere.

Her current fav:
With all the silly sounds made by the animals and frequent chants of "Can't catch me!" it caught her heart. A current must-read everyday book for her!

She also loves this!
Warning! Its quite tiring reading out loud this book! A LOT of repetitions and quite loooong! But I think thats why it is appealing to most kids. She is able to retell the story but of course in her own version.

Its quite fascinating at what children can remember don't you think.

Table for one?

Recently while dining out with Abah and Balqis'es', sitting across from us was a lady. Dining alone. It suddenly made me sympathize with her. Can't help the feeling. I was thinking where's her friends? family? colleagues?

But then again, it takes quite of courage and self-confidence to be able to dine alone. For me I'd rather 'tapau' and eat at home if without company.

But if I really have to, I'd keep this in mind:

1. Appear confident, nicely dressed. At least it doesn't show that you are dining alone because you are lacking partners, but instead maybe you just don't need them!

2. Have a book! Its the never-betraying BFF. So when you are waiting for your order, at least you have somthing to do. Twittering, sms-ing will do too. It helps to look occupied.

3. Relax! Enjoy the food. Have a I'm-HAPPY-and-COMFORTABLE-to-be-alone look.

4. hmm...maybe if its your lucky day a cute guy might just come up to you and ask for your number...*wink* - oh ok thats obviously not for me..hehe

Chills!

Omega-3 benefits Pregnant and Nursing Mums!

It’s irrefutable now that for the foetus brain to develop properly, it needs a great deal of the omega 3′s, DHA and EPA.

EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are available only from marine sources, such as certain fish and algae. The USDA, in fact, limits the recommended amount of EPA and DHA, as it is possible to ingest levels of EPA and DHA that may be toxic to the body. On the other hand, ALA (alpha linolenic acid), which is found in MILA, is a precursor of EPA and DHA and converts in the body to EPA and DHA in amounts each body needs. ALA is derived from plant sources such as nuts, seeds, and greens

If you are a pregnant mother or a nursing mother, you should be taking an omega 3 supplement or eating enough omega 3 foods because they are an essential fatty acid. Essential means our bodies need it but cannot manufacture them on its own. Which simply means we absolutely must get them from our diets.

The omega 3 you obtain in your diet is passed along to your baby when you breastfeed.

Even if you are no longer breastfeeding, you should be careful to take in enough omega 3 fat for your own health. If you have young children, adequate levels of omega 3 intake are associated with less attention deficit and hyperactivity and higher IQ’s.

Lastly, the omega 3′s in fish oil have also been shown to help ease menstrual cramps.

MILA contains:

- 8x more OMEGA 3 than Atlantic farmed or wild salmon.

- 6x more CALCIUM than milk.

- 3x more IRON than spinach

- 2x more POTASSIUM than bananas

- 15x more MAGNESIUM than broccoli

- 2x more FIBER than bran flakes

- 6x more PROTEIN than kidney beans

- 6x more SELENIUM than flax seeds

- 9x more PHOSPHORUS than whole milk

- More ANTIOXIDANTS than blueberries

Overwhelmed...

by a toddler and a baby!

Phew! I forgot just how tiring it can be caring an infant. And to make it much harder, with a 'terrible two' in hand (I agree with the "terrible two" thesis - hoping it will end soon and well!).

and oh ya! by the laundry too!

I wish! but this is googled..mine's worse
Seems like the enormous heap is unmoving. Not helping that we were going places a lot recently and currently we are at KL. Hope I will manage to 'ground' the heap by next week as we are planning to do an open house. Not too late for a RAYA open house I hope.

And after all that I really hope that everything will be more settled...insyaAllah!
